Megan Shah
OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
I am a Wisconsin gal, originally from Appleton (just outside of Green Bay). I went to the OT Masters Program in Milwaukee, WI, and then moved to Seattle in 2017. My family and I moved down to Vancouver, WA, end of 2022, and have loved living in this area and the PNW in general.
I’ve worked in skilled nursing facilities, home health, outpatient neuro, and pain management, and worked with low vision and pre-driving training as well. I am Saebo certified and enjoy helping people find the independence we all value in daily life.
As a therapist, my core values include:
- Safety First
- Respect Pain
- Encouraging Independence with Every Patient.
“With the right tools, anything is possible.”
I specialize in outpatient neuro treatments – SCI, TBI, post stroke, MS, etc.; holistic pain management including training on mindfulness and biofeedback; and pre-driving training in the clinic to prepare clients for success on the road.
I truly enjoy working with clients needing tone management – I have found Saebo equipment incredibly helpful for hand and wrist tone and love watching patients improve their tone and functional use of their hands again. One of my favorite things to work on with patients is to help them be independent with getting dressed in the morning; it can be extremely motivating and helps offload caregivers as well.
The team here at Gabbert Cliic is top shelf – fantastic communicators, client centered, and incredibly well-trained and encourage learning within the team as well as with their patients.
What is Megan Watching, Reading, or Listening to?
- My Big Fat Greek Wedding (Movie)
- Persuasion by Jane Austen (Novel)
When I get some free time, I love to hike, walk the dogs, kayak, crochet, and work in the small garden in the backyard.
